THE MISSION STATEMENT OF THE MASSAGE ACCORDING TO DR. SIMEON PRESSEL
Stuttgart, 2018
1) The basis of our work is the spiritual science of Rudolf Steiner and the related process of
knowing. Simeon Pressel has from there developed a primary approach to therapy that has gone
through the crucible of the white Russian captivity (1945 – 1948). It bears the character of a selfless
act of Love.
2) The personality of Simeon Pressel, his work as a doctor, therapist, massage therapist and teacher,
is our model in the exercise and training in the Massage.
3) Through study and practice in everyday life, we learn to understand and to internalize the forces
of the Planets. We apply these forces in the Massage to help our patients* to connect stronger with
the healing streams from the cosmos and the resurrection forces.
4) With our hands we feel, ask and get in touch in undivided attention, which comes to us from the
patient*.
5) Due to the structure of the Massage, we emphasize the polarity of calves massage and back
massage. As a result, the Rhythmic System is invigorated and strengthened.
6) We want to help our patients and students to be more permeable for the spiritual. In the result
thinking, feeling and acting work better together and the human links arrange themselves. This, in
turn, be a help to the biography and the social situation of the person.
7) By this we aim to activate the self-healing powers and give help to help themselves.
8) We respect and appreciate the personal freedom of the human being and want to give room to the
impulses that apply to the goals of his life.
9) We practice as a therapeutic attitude in us
1. the humility towards the spiritual,
2. the courage to face the dark, and
3. the consciousness that we are tools of the healing forces.
10) We want that each treatment is carried out by technical competence, patience for long periods of
time and creative, artistic acting.
11) We can only encourage so much strive for knowledge, of Self and the world, and for health in
others, as we have developed in ourselves.
12) We exchange as much as possible with each other and with open-minded therapists and doctors
of all directions.
Artistic practice is a priority for us.
13) We undertake to ensure that our Massage is applied both salutogenic as well as therapeutically.
*The term patient is ment both in the salutogenic as well as in the therapeutic context
